Wasabi Infused Cupcakes…No Joke!

Wasabi infused cupcakes. Seriously?!?

Blackberry recently launched their new Bold phones and decided to have some fun with their launch event held at the Curve.

The idea was to get 15 teams with each team made up of one celebrity, one person from the media, one blogger and another person from the public. The 15 teams had to perform some challenges, aka amazing race style – mini version. Each team received a clue from their starting point to find their way to their first challenge, which was held in Cupcake Chic. Seems like nobody had any difficulty deciphering the clue that the location was indeed Cupcake Chic (think they only gave away a small clue)…and they all arrived at pretty much the same time. HAVOC! There were only 5 stations…so some teams had to wait for others to complete their challenge before they could have a go.

The challenge : Each team were given 20 cupcakes each and they had to eat their way through the entire batch to find a blackberry emblem. They had to finish the entire cupcake before going on to the next one. One cupcake at a time, one person at a time.

And the icing on the cupcake…(ok, pardon the pun, I just couldn’t help it) was that all the cupcakes were piped with wasabi in the centre! Oh such, pretty and innocent looking things, but deadly on the inside.

It was so much fun planning this event with the organisers and more importantly, being able to be a part of it. The team had so much fun watching the expressions formed on the faces when they hit the wasabi jackpot. LOL.

Some of the celebrities included : Joe Flizzow, Jehan Miskin, Melissa Indot, Yasmin Hani, Arabyrd, Daphne Iking, Serena C, Henry Golding – just to name a few.
