Cupcakes for Wong Sze Zen (former Miss Malaysia)
Category: BlogI profess I love weddings. What ignited my passion for cake decorating in the first place were those stunning creations made by Sweet Art over 20 years ago when I was residing in Sydney. Back when fondant was barely heard of and this little boutique bakery in uptown Paddington started to churn out the most amazing wedding cakes.
Being able to grace one of the most important days of a couple’s journey is both a privilege and honor. It is this love for weddings that I had a short stint of being a wedding planner (which didn’t quite work out) before I decided to stick with cupcakes.
Stephanie Chai of Wedding Guide Asia (www.weddingguideasia.com) informed us that her good friend Wong Sze Zen (former Miss Malaysia) was getting married and would love to have some cupcakes from Cupcake Chic. Just a short note here : Steph may be your rather high profile celeb, but I gotta tell ya, she is probably one of the most down-to-earth, gorgeous (yes, both inside & outside), easy-going and nicest person you’d ever meet. And Zen is exactly the same. No wonder they get on so well!
Back to the wedding – it was held in a pretty church in the heart of KL and Zen had all these little blue birds cut out which our team painstakingly attached together with a toothpick and we had it perched atop the lovely cupcakes. The frosting was messy with edges of chocolate rice, just to create an old-world charm befitting of the church where the wedding was held.
Zen chose peanut butter choc-chip cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, cookies ‘n cream cupcakes and coffee cupcakes. OMG, No chocolate! I personally cannot imagine a world without chocolate, let alone a wedding, LOL!
Anyway, here are some of the pictures. Enjoy!
