A cupcake decorating session for 15 “Her World” Mothers & Daughters

Most people seem to think I am a natural sanguine. Yes, I admit that once I start to talk about something I’m passionate about, it is hard to shut me up. But most of the time, I would prefer just being curled up on my favourite chair with a good cup of coffee by my side and an engaging book as my companion.

My husband was a natural sanguine – I used “was” because somehow, over the years – we seem to have swapped personalities. Isn’t that the case when you spend 24/7 with one another?

Anyway, I have to admit I was really quite nervous about the session with the bunch of Her World readers. When it comes to cupcake decorating, I’m fine with kids. After all, their hardest questions are “What is YOUR favourite colour?” and “Can I put the silver balls now?”….and nowhere near as critical as an adult could be. Putting aside my nervousness after an organizer told me that the “chef” is to demonstrate up front, (what chef? I’m no pastry chef, just a person that loves to bake & decorate cupcakes)….I decided to just relax and play everything by ear.

The session was quite interactive as I demonstrated four cupcakes to decorate and showed how easy it was to make the cupcakes. I could hear the resounding “OH! So easy wan ar! “ so I know the session was well received and they could go off knowing that anyone can decorate a cupcake! (Now baking, that’s another thing altogether!).
